The property now comprises a collection of garden villas and bungalows positioned along a quiet stretch of white sand. The culinary offering at Sharazād reflects a
similar ethos. Ingredients are sourced locally — seafood is supplied by nearby fishers, and
fruit and vegetables come from surrounding farms. The menu draws from Swahili and Italian influences, with an emphasis on vegetarian dishes and seasonal variety. The result is an understated but high-quality dining experience. In Stone Town, Sharazād Wonders extends the
same principles into an urban context. The coral- stone building has been restored with sensitivity to the historic fabric of the area. Rooms are naturally cooled, interiors are furnished with locally made pieces, and the layout incorporates traditional architectural elements such as shaded courtyards. The on-site concept store features textiles and handmade goods produced by local artisans, with a focus on supporting women-led initiatives. In both locations, Sharazād offers an alternative
to conventional resort tourism. The focus is on providing a calm, respectful and context-aware environment for guests. In recognition of this approach, Sharazād was named East Africa’s Most Sustainable Luxury Boutique Hotel in 2024, highlighting its commitment to environmental responsibility and community engagement.
