Jänkä Resort ÄKÄSLOMPOLO & SIRKKA, FINLAND

ESCAPE TO LAPLAND THIS WINTER, WHERE MAGICAL SNOWSCAPES, DENSE FORESTS, SLEIGH RIDES AND FINE DINING AWAIT

Opened in time for Christmas 2025, Jänkä Resort in Ylläs introduces 13 premium villas that combine contemporary Nordic design with the raw beauty of Lapland’s landscapes. Each villa is a haven of privacy and calm, with its own sauna and outdoor hot tub, perfect for watching the Northern Lights through the rising steam. High ceilings, expansive windows and skylights above the sleeping areas allow the landscape and sky to take centre stage. Guests don’t just stay close to nature, they sleep beneath it.

Northern wonders in every season Finnish Lapland is celebrated for its snowy winters, but its magic extends throughout the year. From the glow of the midnight sun to the stillness of a star-strewn winter sky, the region invites visitors to reconnect with nature. Nestled between the fells of Ylläs and the vibrancy of Levi, Jänkä Resort showcases this versatility with elevated accommodation, refined hospitality and immersive adventures that linger long after the journey home.

A place of light, even in the darkest hours In June and July, Lapland bathes in the midnight sun. The horizon glows golden, fells and lakes are illuminated into the early hours and travellers hike or paddle beneath skies tinted orange by the ‘nightless night’. By late August, the Northern Lights return, shimmering in darkening skies. Autumn brings crisp evenings and the first quiet auroras, a gentle prelude to the season ahead.

From golden fells to glistening snow By November, snow transforms Lapland into a pristine canvas. Winter arrives with husky teams running through fresh powder, snowmobiles weaving between forests and reindeer resting beside firepits. Jänkä Resort offers a serene escape in this season, with nearby Ylläs and Levi providing skiing and snowboarding across varied trails, including illuminated routes for evening adventures. For a slower pace, snowshoe treks, ice fishing and Northern Lights safaris deliver distinctly Nordic memories. The ranch, home to

huskies, reindeer and horses, becomes a hub of activity and quiet reflection.

Encounters with Lapland: animals, adventures and autumn gold Experiences at Jänkä follow the rhythm of the seasons. Winter brings snowmobile rides and husky safaris, while summer invites hiking, canoeing and retreats under the midnight sun. Year-round, the ranch is a highlight, with reindeer sleigh rides through snowy landscapes, husky trails from short loops to half-day treks and quiet encounters with gentle horses. The shoulder seasons reveal another charm. In September, ruska (autumn foliage) cloaks the fells in crimson and gold, while spring softens the landscape once more.

Northern design meets warm hospitality Jänkä is a family-owned retreat, created to share authentic Lapland with discerning travellers. Every stay is an immersive journey designed

to awaken the senses. Here, guests don’t just observe their surroundings, they feel part of them, returning home renewed and inspired.

Lapland comfort, steps from Levi’s slopes Alongside the serenity of Ylläs, Jänkä offers a livelier base in Levi at its Downtown residences. The Penthouse and Townhouse apartments provide an alternative for those who prefer to stay close to the bustle. Just a minute’s walk from the slopes and Levi’s vibrant centre, these residences balance urban convenience with the calm of surrounding pine forests. Inside, Nordic design and first-class amenities create an elegant, tranquil retreat.

A new taste in the north Dining at Jänkä is led by celebrated Finnish chef Hans Välimäki, whose background in a Michelin- starred restaurant and French-inspired style bring refinement with a relaxed touch. At the a la carte restaurant, Nordic ingredients are crafted into seasonal dishes that emphasise simplicity and skill. The setting blends rustic farmhouse charm with

elegant precision, creating a dining experience as memorable as the wilderness beyond the windows. Guests can also enjoy more casual dining

moments throughout the resort, from leisurely breakfasts showcasing local breads, berries and smoked fish to fireside suppers paired with Finnish craft beers and warming liqueurs. Seasonal tasting menus highlight ingredients sourced from Lapland’s forests, lakes and farms, allowing visitors to savour the flavours of the north in their purest form. Each meal becomes part of the wider journey at Jänkä, connecting the plate to the surrounding landscape.

The journey starts now With direct flights from the UK to Kittilä Airport, Lapland is easy to reach. At Jänkä Resort, the invitation is simple: sense the stillness. Here, stillness is more than silence — it’s a state of presence that encourages new connections with nature and with yourself. From golden summer evenings to the silence of snowy winters, Jänkä offers a setting that never loses its allure.
