PAID CONTENT FOR ABBA THE MUSEUM

ABBA The Museum STOCKHOLM, SWEDEN

At ABBA The Museum, on Djurgården island in the heart of the Swedish capital, visitors can immerse themselves in the group’s success story with a fun, engaging and interactive journey. With more than 380 million albums and

singles sold worldwide, ABBA is one of the most successful pop groups of all time. ABBA The Museum is a mecca for both ABBA and pop music fans alike, telling the complete story of Agnetha Fältskog, Björn Ulvaeus, Benny Andersson and Anni-Frid (Frida) Lyngstad. Exhibits trace the band members’ lives and careers, from their childhood and the influence music had on their early lives, to the group’s formation and rise to fame. It’s a unique opportunity to follow the group’s journey, as exhibits are accompanied by exclusively recorded audio guides featuring all four ABBA members sharing some of their personal stories. In 2018, the exhibition at ABBA The Museum

expanded to continue the story past 1982, when Björn, Benny, Frida and Agnetha took a hiatus from their career. Here, interactive features

enhance the story and bring a more traditional museum experience to life. Visitors can try their hand at conducting a virtual orchestra playing a section of the score from Chess, the musical composed by Benny and Björn. Elsewhere, there’s the chance to sing along with the band members in the Benny Andersson’s Orchestra, and — using projection mapping — visitors can even help Donna from Mamma Mia! to paint her house before the wedding. There are also never-before-seen interviews with band members, as well as an incredible collection of film clips, artwork and photographs. The motto at ABBA The Museum is ‘Walk In.

Dance Out.’ Unforgettable interactive experiences await — including singing with ABBA on stage to karaoke in the Polar Studio. Visitors can also experience a virtual reality helicopter ride to Viggso, in the Swedish archipelago, where many of the band’s famous hits were written. The permanent exhibition is always being

updated with news about the band and a new temporary exhibition will be added in 2022.
