Jølstraholmen NORWAY
Jølstraholmen is located on the pristine banks of the river Jølstra, surrounded by lakes, glaciers and mountains that are perfect for hiking, making it the perfect basecamp for an active yet relaxing getaway powered by nature. The family-owned resort has been operating
since 1962 and has 23 chalets and suites. River suites feature luxury interiors and huge windows facing the river, as well as a private bathroom with rain shower. Nine deluxe two- bedroom chalets also offer views of the river, as well as a private, river-facing porch with firepit. There are 11 single-room river chalets, and one larger fishing chalet that has two bedrooms. Jølstraholmen is a Green Key-certified
resort with a major focus on sustainability. The property runs on 100% reusable, environmentally friendly hydropower. The area of Jølster is one of the most
enchanting parts of Norway, home to breathtaking scenery, fresh air, clean water and friendly locals. Visitors can combine a guided ski tour, fishing trip or scenic mountain hike with
the comfortable and sustainable accommodation options at Jølstraholmen. While the surroundings are rich in natural
attractions, Jølster maintains a secluded feel, meaning guests can enjoy being out in nature without worrying about crowds or overtourism. There are spectacular glaciers surrounding the valley, accessible via a short drive or an invigorating mountain hike. Guided climbing trips are also available. Home to more than 100 summits, Jølster is the
perfect destination for hiking and skiing. The mountains around the glaciers offer stunning panoramic views, while the greener slopes near the coast are studded with old farmhouses and are great for picking mushrooms and berries. Jølster is known for its rich cultural heritage
and was where famous painter Nikolai Astrup grew up. Today, the artist’s former home on the lake’s southern shore is a perfectly preserved museum and art gallery, which features permanent exhibitions of Astrup’s work, including paintings, engravings and sketches.
