The Museum Hotel Antakya ANTAKYA, TURKEY
Blending ancient history and stellar design, The Museum Hotel Antakya offers guests a luxurious delve into the past from the comfort of a contemporary five-star retreat. When breaking ground for the Asfuro lu
family’s latest hotel venture revealed centuries-old mosaics, they invested in making them part of the project, sharing the archaeological riches with their guests. Further excavations revealed the remains of Antioch, an ancient Roman city. As the past met the present, the building was
subsequently raised to create a vast, open-air archaeolog park revealing 23 centuries of history. Guests can unlock the mysteries of Antioch and other treasures in the Necmi Asfuroglu Archaeolog Museum. Award-winning Emre Arolat Architecture
masterfully designed the modern, 200-room hotel that appears to float on bespoke, hand-welded steel columns. Glass panels and open-air walkways give guests unlimited views of the archaeological riches below, while terraces and gardens under the canopy further enhance the experience.
Five exquisitely styled restaurants and bars
include an all-day cafe, a poolside space for secret garden shishas and dining, a rooftop party pad and terraced breakfast spot and a sophisticated fine dining restaurant overlooking the excavation site. Each venue offers a blend of local ingredients and dishes that mix ancient and modern techniques referencing the Hatay region, from fresh Turkish pide to mezze and kebabs. Unwind at the in-house spa, wellbeing and
fitness space. The rooftop wellness centre includes a fitness suite and Pilates/yoga studio. Relax and refresh in the outdoor infinity pool during summer, or head to the indoor pool, whirlpool bath and Vitamin Bar in colder months. Tradition meets luxury in a rooftop bathhouse
experience with mixed and female hammams. Alluding to Antioch’s original Roman baths and Apollo and the Muses mosaic, the spa indulges guests with six treatment rooms and the VIP Spa Suite, with two massage beds, a Turkish hammam, whirlpool bath and serene garden for quiet contemplation.
Don’t miss The world’s largest single-floor mosaic, and tours of the world’s oldest cave church, The Hatay Archaeology Museum and the Titus Tunnel
