Song Saa Private Island CAMBODIA

Song Saa Private Island was designed with sustainability in mind and reflects the beauty of the Cambodian coastline. It was founded by sustainability designer Melita Koulmandas and built by local hands from local materials. A tropical getaway with a pristine private beach, spacious wooden villas, heavenly spa sanctuaries and a preserved coral reef, Song Saa Private Island lets you tune into simple luxuries. The resort’s commitment to environmental and community programmes means guests will be treading lightly on this island paradise. Harmony, sustainability and barefoot luxury

are the core principles that underpin Song Saa’s design. Sustainable elements include energ- efficient thatched roofing, reclaimed sandstone, recycled timber from disused fishing boats, furniture made from driftwood, plus floors made from timber salvaged from old factories, warehouses and demolition yards around Cambodia and Thailand. The bespoke furniture is hand-crafted by local artisans and artwork is sourced from nearby markets and local artists.

Song Saa’s culinary ethos is based on locally

sourced ingredients, seasonal fruits and vegetables, wildlife-friendly Ibis rice from farmers in the north and cashew nuts, coconuts and Kampot pepper from nearby villages. At Song Saa you can relax on pristine sands

or set off on a scuba diving adventure, take a sunset cruise across dazzling seas or explore native plants and wildlife along rainforest trails. At night, enjoy a quiet dinner for two, then retreat to your villa terrace, clinking glasses under the glittering night sky. The Song Saa Foundation initiates and

promotes projects that improve the wellbeing of the communities and natural environments of the Koh Rong Archipelago and beyond. It ensures independent governance and has a clear mission, moving beyond corporate social responsibility to multilateral funding and international donor partners. Song Saa Private Island’s guests are able to donate directly to a registered foundation and be confident that their money goes directly to projects that protect the archipelago.
