After an extensive renovation in 2019, DAS EDELWEISS Salzburg Mountain Resort now includes a modern building with spacious suites decorated in a sophisticated alpine style, as well as the 7,000 sq m EDELWEISS Mountain Spa, featuring an indoor water park, two outdoor pools, numerous saunas and separate areas for families and adults. Guests can enjoy award- winning ‘mountain cuisine’, focused on the use of local ingredients in a number of beautiful restaurants and cafes.
LOCATION With its location in the scenic Grossarl Valley, DAS EDELWEISS Salzburg Mountain Resort is in the heart of Salzburg’s impressive mountainscape, surrounded by spectacular views and serving as an ideal starting point for activities. The resort is located just a few metres from the gondola station, providing direct access to Austria’s famed Ski Amadé winter sports area, with 470 miles of slopes. In summer, numerous

hiking trails and mountain bike trails lead into the alpine wonderland of Salzburgerland, with its clear mountain lakes and 40 well-maintained mountain huts. The historic city of Salzburg — the former home of Mozart — is located just over 40 miles north of Grossarl and well within range for a day trip.
ARCHITECTURE & DESIGN DAS EDELWEISS Salzburg Mountain Resort underwent a substantial renovation between 2018 and 2019, one of the largest construction projects ever in Salzburg. The main house was completely renovated with painstaking attention to detail and supplemented by a new building that blends harmoniously into the surrounding hilly landscape. In cooperation with interior designers Köck & Bachler from Fieberbrunn, a spacious room layout with large window fronts and a spa area have been created. Earthy tones and natural materials such as stone, glass and wood create a warm and cosy
atmosphere to relax in. The lighting design features the work of Macchina della Luxe by Catellani & Smith. After the renovation, the luxury resort boasts
145 rooms and suites in a modern alpine style, numerous restaurants, an alpine bar and lounge, Kork & Gloria wine bar, the Churchill cigar lounge, a spacious ski depot and an event area. The three penthouse suites are a particular
highlight, with two bedrooms and bathrooms, cosy seating areas and spacious terraces with mountain views. The Top Suite Edelweiss is considered the among the largest of its kind in Salzburgerland and features a private, external pool with a counter-current system. The EDELWEISS Mountain Spa sprawls across five floors and is the heart of the resort. There’s also a handy ski hire shop and Edelweiss Fashion, selling stylish clothes and accessories.
EDELWEISS MOUNTAIN CUISINE The award-winning EDELWEISS Mountain
Cuisine is headed by family member and chef Alexander Hettegger, who attaches great importance to the use of local produce and culinary variation. Among other things, there’s a breakfast buffet in the form of a marketplace and a salad buffet for dinner, including freshly squeezed fruit and vegetable juice. In the evening, guests choose from a regional, vegan or international menu and have a seat in one of the six lounges. Gourmet restaurant Petrus offers fine dining,
while meat-lovers will flock to Sirloin Steak Restaurant for mouthwatering red meat dishes that will blow your mind. Wine connoisseurs will get their money’s worth in the wine bar Kork & Gloria, which offers fine wines from an extensive cellar. Also bringing his skills to the hotel is Laos-born top chef Alexis Savanx, who has years of experience in Asian fusion cuisine in restaurants and luxury hotels around the world. He showcases his prodigious cooking skills at Kork & Gloria and spoils guests with stunning sushi creations.
EDELWEISS MOUNTAIN SPA The wellness oasis with two outdoor pools is spread across five floors and offers separate areas for families with children and adults. Families can head to the Family Mountain Spa,
with its indoor water park with five water slides on two levels. In addition, there’s a large indoor pool with baby and toddler area, cuddle corners and play facilities. The family-friendly sauna area includes a bio sauna, a Finnish sauna, an alpine sauna, an aroma steam bath, an infrared cabin and a whirlpool bath. The adults-only Mountain Spa is located in the
new building and features a panoramic sauna, infinity pool, saltwater pool and cosy relaxation rooms with lounging areas and mountain views. The stylish SPA Bistro provides guests
with healthy snacks and fresh juices. Sports enthusiasts can train with Techno Gym equipment in the fitness area or participate in active classes in the exercise room. Swimmers can do their laps in the outdoor sports pool, which has panoramic views.
