PAID CONTENT FOR MILAIDHOO MALDIVES

Milaidhoo Maldives BAA ATOLL, MALDIVES

Milaidhoo is a Maldivian-owned private island resort situated across 13 acres atop the pristine Baa Atoll’s UNESCO Biosphere Reserve. Deeply rooted in local traditions, the island offers a genuine experience of Maldivian island living, featuring 50 villas, three restaurants and tasteful decor crafted by local designers and artisans using responsibly sourced materials. The resort embodies laid-back island luxury, with private pool villas designed by a local architect to minimise impact on the coral reef. The thatched-roof villas seamlessly merge indoor

and outdoor living, opening up 180 degrees to nature. Local materials and crafts blend effortlessly with sustainable architecture, serviced by private butlers and featuring lush tropical surroundings. Milaidhoo also boasts a spectacular two-bedroom Ocean Residence, recently upgraded to include a private gym and yoga/meditation lounge. The sundeck offers a plush swing chair, sun loungers and a large freshwater infinity swimming pool with direct access to the sea. For those preferring solid ground, two Beach Residences with their own private freshwater

infinity pools are available. Circular living rooms and spacious bathrooms with indoor and outdoor rain showers and separate deep bathtubs complete the experience. Milaidhoo Maldives occupies a prime spot for

manta ray sightings, with thousands migrating from June to October to the Baa Atoll’s plankton- rich waters. The island offers a conservation- focused manta ray awareness diving course by PADI, allowing certified divers to learn about the creatures’ behaviour and conservation efforts. For a unique experience, guests can choose to

sleep on their own private sandbank. Transformed with the luxury facilities of a Milaidhoo Villa, the sandbank comes with a canopied four-poster bed draped in muslin and a private yacht anchored nearby, complete with a dressing room and bathroom with all the amenities guests would expect to find back at the island resort. As the crew sail away after dinner, couples are left to enjoy post- dinner drinks before drifting off to sleep under the stars, surrounded by candles and lanterns scattered across the sandbank.

DON’T MISS Savour gourmet dishes and cocktails at Ba’theli, a unique restaurant set on a beautiful boat in the lagoon
