PAID CONTENT FOR TIGER MOUNTAIN POKHARA LODGE

Tiger Mountain Pokhara Lodge POKHARA, NEPAL

Tiger Mountain Pokhara Lodge sits on a ridge above the Pokhara Valley in central Nepal with a magnificent Himalayan panorama of three 27,000 ft mountains — Dhaulagiri, Annapurna and Manaslu. It’s at the exciting stage of developing a

groundbreaking agreement with its local community forest committee to partner with them to enhance the conservation management of the forest surrounding the lodge on three sides. This will be a first for Nepal and will move that sense of tourism partnership to a higher level. In spite of being relatively close to Pokhara city,

the grounds host leopards, several smaller cat species, civets, mongoose and martens, golden jackal and much more. The lodge is a perfect base for nature-lovers at all levels. The lodge was established in 1998 and the

majority (80%) of the current staff have worked since it opened. Rooms are in individual or double bungalows in clusters throughout the grounds, reminiscent of Nepali mountain villages. With large beds, luxurious cashmere blankets and ayurvedic or herbal toiletries specially made for the

property, the rooms are comfortable and secluded, each with its own private verandah. The lodge was completely refurbished in 2023-

24 and provides a comfortable haven for guests to explore the rich forests, farmland and diverse villages of the area. Expert local guides talk guests through the flora, fauna and culture typical of the surrounding hills. Skilled therapists lead guests in yoga, meditation and sound therapy sessions, while masseurs ease legs tired from hikes in the hills. Chef Lalu and his team prepare authentic Nepali dishes served on bronze thalis or as sharing dishes in the middle of dining tables. International cuisine is also available. Al fresco meals on the spacious terrace facing the

mountains are a perfect way to enjoy fine food and magnificent views. The team will advise on walks and other options to explore and craft a personal journey for each guest during their stay. The expansive seven acres of rewilded grounds provide a quiet corner to read or meditate on the mountain views. A saltwater swimming pool is set on the hilltop for seclusion and to reflect the mountain peaks.

DON’T MISS Have a cup of tea in bed then take a picnic lunch and explore the local area on a day hike with an expert local guide
