Deep within the lush Mayan jungle near Cancún lies a sacred journey, inspired by one of the most powerful myths of the ancient world. At Extreme Adventuring Cancun Eco Park, travellers embark not merely on an adventure, but on a symbolic passage through the three realms of the Mayan universe, united by the sacred tree, Wakah Chan — the Tree of the World. ancient beliefs, where the sky, the earth and the underworld were deeply connected. The journey begins in Ka’an, the celestial realm. Guests soar across the sky on a circuit of five exhilarating zip-lines, a modern reimagining of the flight of mythical feathered serpent, Kukulcan. On the jungle floor, guests descend into Kab,
the earthly realm, atop a powerful all-terrain ATV. This is the Path of the Jaguar, where instinct and courage guide adventurers through twisting trails and sacred terrain. Finally, the path leads to Xibalbá, the Mayan underworld, accessed through a 100% natural open-air cenote. These sacred waters — once believed to be portals between life
and death — invite guests to face inner trials. As they swim in the cool, crystalline depths, surrounded by jungle silence and shadows, a sense of timeless peace and transformation takes hold. The reward for completing these sacred trials
comes in the form of a traditional Mayan offering. Guests are invited to witness a vibrant ancestral performance, followed by cochinita pibil (slow- cooked pork) tacos, made in the earthen oven or pib — a culinary ritual where fire and earth combine to create a feast once reserved for warriors and kings. Guests also partake in a tequila tasting, sampling a variety of local spirit. Upon arrival, travellers are offered the chance
to upgrade to the exclusive Cenote VIP experience. Unlike the main cenote — shared with other tour groups — this private sanctuary is reserved for a limited number of guests from Extreme Adventuring only. Expect no queues for the zip- line or diving platforms and plenty of space to explore and capture serene moments. The VIP area includes access to hidden cavern chambers said to mirror the mythical Mayan underworld.
