18 Te Travel Guide Türkiye Promotional Special Six steps to holiday bliss From one resort on the Turkish coast comes the revitalising Club Marvy experience

Promotional Content • Saturday 3rd May 2025

H

ere are six reasons why the experience at Club Marvy is new and truly exceptional.

1. Surprise location Kesre is a hidden bay near Izmir, surrounded by pine and palm trees.

2. Romantic seascapes Two large, sandy beaches offer guests exquisite sunsets.

3. Best of both worlds Tere are separate areas designed for families with children and for adults seeking tranquillity.

4. Sustainable art Atelier Marvy, both an art gallery and a residency programme, is running an intensive exhibition calendar this summer, with five different exhibi- tions throughout the season.

5. Global and local flavours A wide selection of restaurants include ones helmed by Italian chef and Michelin star winner Cristina Bowerman, and by Turkish chef Ahmet Güzelyagdöken, who uses local organic produce in his creations.

6. A story to tell Te essence of a meaningful holiday is having a story to tell when you look back, achieved through seasonal rituals that turn into memorable experiences.

The real organic One of the stars of Marvy gastronomy is chef Ahmet Güzelyagdöken. Among the most important aspects in the work of this chef, who designs the menus of Club Marvy restaurants, is the use of products from Degirmen, the largest organic farm in the region. All dishes are prepared with these fresh, seasonal ingredients. Chef Güzelyagdöken also creates ‘random’ tables, featuring daily fish from the sea and seasonal vegetables.

Local values and simplicity At Club Marvy, local values stand out, with a simple approach in every element, from architecture to gastronomy. Tese include wicker- work by artisans from Söke and Tire, hand-crafted bamboo lamps, and textiles specially produced for Club Marvy in the Buldan region. Te diverse textures used in the hotel’s design all reflect the delicacy of the Marvy spirit.

A Michelin-starred chef Rome’s only Michelin-starred female chef, Cristina Bowerman, blends the local products of the Aegean with Italian flavours at Buono Italiano, the restaurant she opened at Club Marvy in 2019. She evaluates her success in the gastronomy sector as follows: “What excites me is the adrenaline rush of always raising the bar higher! I’m just like an athlete. First, you run

100 metres in a certain time. Te next day, you run the same distance faster and push your limits to the maximum. Tis is what it means for me to be good at my profession.”

Get ready for the Hıdırellez ritual According to an ancient Anatolian belief, two saints named Hızır and Ilyas meet on the shore every year on the night between 5 May and 6 May to fulfil wishes. Club Marvy celebrates this tradition, known as Hıdırellez, with its guests at a long table set up by Kesre Bay. Guests rise at six the next morning, wrap their wishes in rose petals, and throw them into the sea — because we all need hope!

Come before the summer ends Good news for those saddened by the approaching end of summer before it even begins — Club Marvy’s September and October events featuring Aegean rituals are ideal for extending the summer season. Don’t forget to mark your calendars: the pomegranate harvest

ritual on

19-21 September is followed by the olive harvest ritual on 10-12 October.

A world for adults One of the most elegant features of Club Marvy is its consideration for both families with children and for adults

seeking a

experience. While children enjoy themselves in the expansive Aqua Park nestled amid the hotel’s lush greenery, another world awaits on the adults-only side of the hotel: quiet, private and romantic. Here, rooms are situated around the hotel’s most stunning sunset spot. Te adults-only section also boasts a private check-in area, a child-free beach and the Degirmen restaurant.

Two different shows this summer For the upcoming summer season, ‘Te Magic is Back’ show transports guests to the vibrant atmosphere of New York’s Studio 54 era, evoking the glamour and excitement of that iconic time. Also at Club Marvy, ‘It’s All an Illusion’ pushes the boundaries of acrobatics with a show that promises to dazzle audiences with breathtaking feats and mind-bending illusions.
