Redbridge: the place to discover in 2025 F
Recently named in a list of the best places to live in the UK, it’s easy to see why London’s leafi est borough, Redbridge, is gaining national attention. Come on over, bring the family, and see for yourself!
ollowing recent investment in attractions and leisure facilities across the borough, Redbridge is
fast becoming the place for families and friends to go — for cultural activities, to share delicious authentic food, and for both leisurely and adrenaline-fuelled days out. A revamped free children’s farm
in Hainault Forest, with a brand-new cafe, visitor centre, playground and craft workshops, now off ers families an exciting day out, suitable for children of all ages. Children can get up close and meet lambs, horses, goats, donkeys, peacocks and make so many more feath- ered and furry friends, before building a den in the forest and stopping to refuel at the beautiful forest cafe. Talk a walk from Hainault station — although there’s a car park for those who don’t fancy a walk. Fairlop Waters has become some-
where for older kids to let off steam, with one of the fi nest bouldering courses in England, high ropes, and watersports such as paddleboarding and sailing to try. And urban Ilford is now getting
national attention. Rocket Padel chose Ilford as the new home of one of the UK’s fi nest padel tennis centres, which recently hosted the Grade 2 National Tour tournament. A climbing centre will be opening in the town soon, with walls for beginners, right the way up to profes- sional grade. Foodies are also fl ocking to the town, to try delicious, authentic

cuisine from Ilford Lane’s buzzing restaurant scene. T e momentum is rolling. Redbridge’s
parks now have refurbished tennis courts and new cricket pitches. Two of the borough’s parks are in the top 10 nationally, and nine have green fl ags. For those wanting to live within
the convenience of central London, which is just a short trip away on the Elizabeth Line, in a borough that has 90% good or outstanding schools, and a borough working towards being formally recognised by UNICEF UK as ‘child friendly’, Redbridge ticks all the right boxes.
