TEAL APPEAL

Restful and soothing, the new hue by Le Creuset is inspired as much by nature as by interior

trends. This iconic cookware is chip-resistant and has superior heat retention, which means your food stays moist and

tender. Part of Le Creuset’s new Nature Kitchen Collection, the enamelled cast-iron cookware not only performs well in the kitchen, but looks beautiful on

your table too and comes with a lifetime guarantee. Pictured here is a signature round casserole 24cm (R3 350), foil cutter (R360), white wine glasses (set of four – R760), black bottle-opener (R295), classic pepper mill

(R470), dinner plates (R315 each) and side plates (R235 each). Visit: www.lecreuset.co.za

KEY MOMENTS

MOODY MINIMALISM Fine dining eatery Janse & Co

opened at the end of last year. Chef Arno Janse van Rensburg

(previously of Eat Out 2016 Top 10 restaurant The Kitchen at Maison in Franschhoek) opened this

new restaurant with his partner, pastry chef Liezl Odendaal. Janse & Co is all about fresh, simple

ingredients and flexibility – enjoy three to seven courses from a

tasting menu of 20 options. Think mouthfuls of deliciousness like 10-hour-rolled suckling pig with crispy crackling, bok choy, kimchi broth and lentil sprouts. There are three dining areas to choose from, but we recommend the spacious courtyard, which houses a hydroponic garden. 75 Kloof St, Cape Town. Tel: 021 422 0384. Visit: www.janseco.com

BARGING IN Belmond Afloat in France has a

fleet of luxury barges which wend their way along the country’s rivers and canals. They’re

operational from April to October and traverse various routes

through Burgundy, Provençe and Languedoc-Roussillon. You’ll

enjoy plenty of stops, like lunch with wine producers or shopping at markets. Book an entire barge for your exclusive use or sail on a per-cabin basis. This is luxury barging at its finest – en-suite bathrooms, heated swimming pools, rare vintage tastings and gourmet food. Take the

Belmond Amaryllis, which travels from Dijon to St-Léger, focusing on the vineyards, villages and cities of Burgundy.
