THE HILLS ARE ALIVE…

Telling the true story of the Von Trapp family, who were forced to flee the Nazis across the mountains from Austria, The Sound of Music has some of the

most memorable songs of all time, like My Favourite Things, Sixteen Going on Seventeen and Do-Re-Mi.

It originally premièred on Broadway in 1959, snapping up eight Tony Awards, including Best Musical. Its perennially

popular film adaptation, with songs and lyrics by Richard Rodgers and Oscar Hammerstein II (Oklahoma!, Carousel, South Pacific, The King and I), is still imprinted on our minds today.

This sumptuous Andrew Lloyd Webber production is presented in SA by Pieter

Toerien, David Ian and The Really Useful Group. The all-star South African cast, including André Schwartz as Captain von Trapp and Carmen Pretorius as Maria, have just returned from their well-

received international tour. It promises to be family entertainment at its best.
