huge increase of transportation cost, shortage of raw material, increase of energy cost, and now the war is making things even more complicated due the embargo, with direct impact on energy, raw material supply and so on. The automotive industry is being affected again due to cut of cable supply from Ukraine. And again, companies who supplies to these customers are directly affected. There
are threats everywhere -
Covid, War, Climate change, Inflation, and more and more also the need to protect ourselves and organizations from cyberattacks. We live indeed in a very uncertain and unpredictable time. It is precisely in those times of difficultly where the association needs to play a role of supporting the industry by creating spaces of interchange of status and ideas, provide the market report trends and continue the role of dissemination knowledge and experience, as we de did with the Webinar series. We at the EICF humbly believe we are working in that direction during these special and difficult times. This EICF Conference represents
the highlight of the year for the IC stakeholders and will give us again the opportunity to get in touch in person and will bring us again the human touch in our networking. The international conferences are also the main source of income for the EICF. Without holding conferences, the EICF becomes in a deficit situation. Financial years 2020 and 2021 had brought losses to the EICF and thanks to the good generation of reserves during the years before and a prudent administration the federation has been able to cope with these losses and still deliver its mission. This year’s Conference will certainly help to balance our accounts and it’s stimulating to observe, that even in this difficult time we have been able to increase membership. Let me ratify again, the commitment to service that the Board of Directors and myself have had during the period that we are reviewing today and within the future ahead.”

speech to members the different GAM blocks were reviewed, including Activities Report, Finances and Accounts approval, Governance and new appointments, after each of the discussion points the voting process was called to an end and subsequently voting
closed, reporting the results
on the screen. Referring to the Board appointments, we must mention that Mr. Ronald Williams a long serving EICF Board member, has stepped down from the Board. The GAM expressed their recognition to the many years contribution of Ron to the EICF Board and his leadership and impact into the global IC Industry. The GAM elected as new appointed Board member to Mr. Adel Saoudi (Managing Director of Paradigm Precision Eurocast). Also, the GAM appointed Dr. Julio Aguilar from Safran Tech Vice-Chairman of the Federation whilst Mr. Philippe Hoste from Castingpar was appointed Chairman of the Federation for the period 2022-2024. Finally the GAM approved a Board resolution onto the conflict in Ukraine expressed as below: “EICF members share a European vision based on peace, technical and social advance and welfare for the European citizens. United in diversity, this vision does not allow to be indifferent to the invasion and tragedies

An open invitation to IC Foundries and industries from Ukraine to join the EICF (free) for a period of 2 years to help to build a liaison that should underline the European mission of the Ukraine country, companies and citizens.” The meeting was closed by the outgoing Chairman, Mr.
