NEWS The Premier II will be a twin turbofan, swept wing, light


jet aircraft featuring a high-strength, advanced composite fuselage that allows for a medium-jet sized cabin at light jet costs. New winglets and the new powerful and highly efficient Williams International FJ44-3AP engines, each producing 3,000 pounds of thrust, will allow the Premier II to climb unrestricted to 45,000 feet and fly a 1,500 nm (2,778 km) mission with one pilot and four passengers (800 lbs payload). Additionally, the higher thrust engines will increase maximum cruise speed to 465 knots (861 km/hr) at 33,000 feet and improve high/hot take-off operations. delivery of the first Cessna Citation X to be fitted with Elliptical Winglets. The winglets were installed at the Wichita Cessna Service Center under Winglet Technology’s U.S. Federal Aviation Administration-approved Supplemental Type Certificate. Cessna and Winglet Technology, LLC, collaborated to develop the latter’s pat- ented Elliptical Winglet for retrofit on Cessna’s Citation X business jet. The patented Elliptical Winglet shape


ensures the lift distribution closely matches optimum lift distribution along the span of the wing, which reduces the induced drag of the aircraft. The result- ing drag reduction enhances opera- tional performance for the Citation X including decreased fuel consumption, increased speed and increased range. Winglet Technology received FAA


approval of the Elliptical Winglet instal- lation on the Citation X in June and delivered the first FAA approved retrofit kit to the Wichita Cessna Service Cen- ter. The retrofit kit includes flight and operations manual supplements along with an updated version of CESSNAV for customers who have purchased that subscription service from Cessna. In ad- dition to the installation of the Elliptical Winglets, the retrofit kit includes the re- placement of the existing anti-collision
