Mentored to Success: Duncan Aviation VP Encourages Team Members to Get Out of Their Comfort Zones

BY GREG GERBER

Mark Cote’s career is a refl ection of the way corporate America should be when people are recognized for their skill, talent and ability, and not just for possessing a college diploma. Cote earned an associates

degree in electronic engineering technology from Southeast Community College in Milford, NE, and got his fi rst professional job as an aviation technician at Duncan Aviation in Lincoln, NE. Today, he is the company’s vice president of Parts and Rotable Sales, Avionics/Accessories repair and Satellites. He credits his success to the culture at Duncan Aviation that helps people build careers by encouraging them to step out of their comfort zones so that they can grow and reach their highest potential. “I had a sideline interest in aviation when I was off ered a position right out of college,” Cote explains. “I hadn’t heard of Duncan Aviation, but I visited the facility and was impressed with the company. It wound up being a great place to start a career because I haven’t worked anywhere else for the past 30 years.”
