The best of your letters, comments and social media this week Operators: Support the indies
Which operators are going to follow Jet2holidays and add a strapline “book with your independent travel agent” on their peaks TV and radio adverts and other media? Some operators have big trade sales teams, yet their adverts would portray them to be direct sell, which is a bit odd, because you would think they would like continuity for clients and for them to book with their local agent. Come on operators, let’s see some “book with your local independent travel agent” in your campaigns, go on…it might even bring you more business! Richard Slater
CAA: Give it credit

At least consumers were covered and will get their money back. They just need to be patient. It is the companies still struggling with the aftermath that I feel for. Lucy Clarke
Cook: ‘Flying everyone home made mockery of Atol’
Guest comment: The cost of Thomas Cook’s failure Flying home people who had DIY holidays for free makes a mockery of Atol. They should have been left to make their own way home to highlight the importance of proper protection. James Marchant
