KLM boosts City and Inverness links

KLM doubled its weekday services from London City to Amsterdam on Monday and also went double-daily from Inverness, offering increased options for long-haul connections from Schiphol.
Services from London City have
risen from four a day to eight on Mondays to Fridays. The existing weekend schedule, with three flights on Saturday, is unchanged. The Dutch carrier resumed
flying between London City and Amsterdam in February after a gap of eight years with two flights

Amsterdam to Lagos, Accra and Colombo are among the most popular routes from London City, saying the route serves “a mix of corporate and VFR traffic”. Inverness-Amsterdam services
each weekday operated by KLM Cityhopper. It added two more from the start of the summer schedule. This week it took over four
London City-Amsterdam services operated by CityJet each weekday. CityJet, a subsidiary of Air France- KLM until 2014, will continue to operate the flights on behalf of KLM. From Inverness, KLM launched
daily flights to Amsterdam last year and has now added a second daily service for the summer schedule. It offers connections to more than
150 destinations from Schiphol. Warner Rootliep, Air France-KLM
general manager for the UK and Ireland, said: “CityJet wanted to stop flying City-Schiphol so we agreed to wet-lease the flights
