Costa Rica

A year-round destination with some of the happiest people on the planet

5

reasons to love Costa Rica

Œ Nature and wildlife Costa Rica is home to 5% of the world’s

biodiversity. From sloths to monkeys and jaguars to frogs, wildlife is part and parcel of a holiday here.

National Parks 26% of Costa Rica's land is protected. Rainforests

and dry forests are located all around the country. Zip line through the clouds at Monteverde cloud forest and relax on the beach at Manuel Antonio National Park, one of the most beautiful parks in the country.

Ž Beaches With two distinct coastlines, one on the

Caribbean Sea and one on the Pacific Ocean, and accommodation ranging from eco lodges to five- star hotels, there is a beach holiday for everyone.

Volcanoes and hot Springs Costa Rica´s volcanoes are among

the most mesmerizing in the world and there are more than 290 of them. One of the most popular excursions is an exploration of Arenal Volcano National Park to take in the magnificence of Arenal Volcano. Similarly impressive is Poas Volcano, a smoking giant with a cone topping 9,000ft. Thanks to the Arenal and Rincón de la Vieja Volcano’s geothermal activity, hot springs throughout the area offer visitors an ideal way to relax after a day exploring

Turtle nesting and hatching at Tortuguero

Green sea turtles, Hawksbill turtles and Leatherback turtles nest on the beaches of Tortuguero National Park as well as Playa Grande, Guanacaste and Ostional. The Green Sea and Hawksbill turtle’s nesting season runs from July to October with the peak in August, and the Leatherback turtles nest from February to April. It is possible to see individual turtles at any time of the year.
