Grand Bahama airport to reopen in temporary building


Grand Bahama airport, which was severely damaged by hurricane Dorian earlier this year, is expected to reopen with a temporary building from November 15. It was left several feet under water as a result of the hurricane. The director general of the Bahamas Ministry of Tourism and Aviation, Joy Jibrilu, urged the trade to encourage clients back to support the islands’ recovery.


New Parc Asterix coaster will be


its ‘biggest attraction investment’ Parc Asterix will open a “secret” rollercoaster in 2022 and refurbish one of its existing coasters. Details are under wraps but the park said it would be its “biggest attraction investment ever”. Existing rollercoaster Tonnere de Zeus (Zeus’s Thunder) will also be rebuilt, with a new circuit and track added in 2021. Floating hotel QE2 unveils fam trip programme for 2020 Agents will have the chance to


stay on floating hotel Queen Elizabeth 2 when its owners start a fam trip programme in 2020. Te historic vessel, docked


permanently in Dubai’s Mina Rashid port, opened as a 224- room hotel in April 2018. Nearly 20 rooms are being refurbished and signature restaurant, the


Queen’s Grill, is being redesigned as a British bistro-style restaurant. A conference centre, spa and


gym have all been added over the past 19 months. More than 10 fam trips are


being planned, with details to be finalised in the coming weeks. Te itineraries will be varied. Some will include overnight stays


on the QE2, while others will


feature stays elsewhere in Dubai. QE2 director of marketing
