Red Sea Holidays to launch weekly flights from Birmingham to Sharm
Egypt specialist Red Sea Holidays will begin weekly charter flights from Birmingham to Sharm el-Sheikh on December 19, using Polish carrier Enter Air. The move follows the lifting of UK travel restrictions to the resort’s airport last month. A seven-night all-inclusive holiday, flying on December 19, starts at £800, while a week in January costs £549.

Crystal Ski unveils winter range earlier than in previous years

Albatross Group sets sights on agents selling Disneyland Paris

Te Albatross Group is seeking new business among agents who make group bookings to Disneyland Paris, following the senior appointment of Peter Straton. Te wholesaler has set up a new division, Albatross
Magic, specifically to handle Disney bookings and enquiries from agency consortia and extended-family groups. A website,
albatrossmagic.com, is being built. Straton was recruited last month as head of new
business development. He has previously held senior roles at P&O Ferries, Eurotunnel and the CMV Travel Group, and has owned Simpson Recruitment since 2000. Albatross can put together group packages for agents
selling Disneyland Paris. Straton admited the group is not well known to the
trade, but he hopes to ramp up trade business, as the French park plans to invest €2 billion in the resort. “We’d like to talk to agents about the broader opportunities of working together in the future,” said
Straton. “We want them to know we do Disney. “Group travel and extended families going away is
growing, and there are opportunities for agents. Tere are also fundamental differences between booking individuals to Disney and groups.” Te group is contacting consortia, and will consider
working with agents on marketing. Straton said: “We have not got any signed deals
with consortia but we’ve had a good reception. We could give them net rates to mark up.” He claimed group bookings could be complex for
agents to book. “It’s business that could otherwise be lost,” said Straton. “Very oſten, people [agents] shy away from group business.” Te wholesaler owns a portfolio of brands, and
is on the acquisitions trail for business-to-consumer opportunities, according to Straton. Its brands Albatross Travel and Success Tours, which already sell Disneyland Paris, will market the product as Disney by Albatross Travel and Disney by Success Tours.
