Virgin launches LA flights from Manchester for 2019

Ben Ireland ben.ireland@travelweekly.co.uk

Virgin Atlantic is to start flying to Los Angeles from Manchester next year and will double the number of flights from the airport to Las Vegas.

It will also increase the number

of flights to Boston and use larger aircraft on existing routes to New York and Atlanta. The carrier said 2019 would see

its biggest-ever programme from Manchester, as it unveiled plans to boost capacity by 20% with up to six daily departures. In all, Virgin Atlantic will offer

14,000 seats per week to the US and Caribbean from Manchester. Flights from the northwest

airport are scheduled to link with 200 onward connections in the US on flights with Virgin’s partner airline Delta. A partnership with regional carrier Flybe also means passengers can join the transatlantic routes from smaller airports around the UK.
