Sullivan’s Island There are lots of beaches and islands close to Charleston, each with its own appeal – but for those who just want to relax, Sullivan’s Island’s vast, sandy beaches are ideal. Direct flights British Airways launched a direct flight from Heathrow to Charleston this year, flying twice a week between March and October. It’s also possible to fly with Delta Air Lines via Atlanta, or via other cities on the East Coast.
