Shearings adds six escorted tours in US to Worldwide range

Shearings Holidays has added six US escorted tours to its 2020 Worldwide programme, bringing its American range up to 13. Te new trips include the
16-day National Parks Explorer, which visits the national parks of Yellowstone, Grand Teton, Canyonlands, Arches and Capitol Reef, as well as San Francisco, Los Angeles, Las Vegas and Reno. Prices start at £4,039.
Bright Lights and Western
Highlights features New York plus destinations in the west including San Francisco, Yosemite, Las Vegas, Palm Springs and Los Angeles. Te 14-day tour costs from £2,519. A 15-day Gone with the Wind
tour costs from £2,579 and visits sites associated with the famous novel and film. Te 13-day Eastern Discovery itinerary takes clients to New York, Boston, Washington DC, Philadelphia and Niagara Falls, with prices leading in at £2,479.

Also new are six-day city breaks
in Los Angeles (from £1,135) and one in San Francisco(from £1,269). All prices are on a twin-share
basis and include flights. Mathew Herbert, the
opearator’s product and yield director, said the Colours of New England tour, introduced for autumn 2019, was the best-selling tour in Shearings’ Worldwide programme, as it “ticks off a bucket-list wish for many”. He said the operator was also
seeing growing demand for tour extensions, booked alongside escorted tours. “Customers want the fully
organised touring itinerary, but we are being asked more and more to tailor-make extensions,” said Herbert. “Rather than just booking extra
hotel nights, we are now adding on excursions and experiences, so that their trip is totally tailored to their requirements.”
