Isaac Hayes recommends the ideal complement to a viewing of GRINDHOUSE CLASSICS in this frame from the TRUCK TURNER trailer.


Heisse Berührungen itself, the shorter (72m 42s) German cut in its original form. There is no indi- cation of who edited this window- boxed version, but the cuts made in terms of streamlining some scenes and removing others alto- gether improve the film’s pacing considerably and, unlike the other version, its direction is formally credited to Jess Franco. This ver- sion alternatively bills Romay, Swinn and Hardy (Ardíd) in that order, credits Ramón Gimenez as the cameraman and Franco Manera with the script, while Christine Lembach is assigned the German dialogue.


The different title sequence from the Spanish variant LADY PORNO (1m 22s) is also included, listing Jesús Franco, Nadine Foucarde, Ramon Ardiz (sic), C.L. Fartier and Pierre Taylou among the cast members, Jean Quereut as in charge of décor and C. Lecoque as editor, while attribut- ing the script to Jesús Franco and Julio Perez-Tabernero, the produc- tion to J.P. Tabernero, and the direction to “Tawer Nero.”

The strangest of all the supplements is the title sequence of a French VHS release retitled La Partouze de Minuit, though the French theatrical release title was the English one. The se- quence itself is more or less iden- tical to that of the main feature, but the windowboxed excerpt features bizarre, video-gener- ated titles and credits again at odds with the other versions. Once again, Monica Swinn is given top billing, but “Jess Frank” is here credited as “David Khunne”; the script is credited to Nadine Foucart; the adaptation and dialogue are signed by P.C. Garnier and H.L. Rostaine; the director of photog- raphy is listed as Gérard Brissaud, assisted by Philippe Vandaele; the editor is Josiane Belair; and for the only time on any version, the music is openly credited to Daniel White.


As with the companion release, the disc includes a four-page color enclosure with German notes by Christopher Klaese, and is adorned with a slipsleeve and reversible DVD cover art that pays its respects to Lina Romay while reflecting a handsome variety of poster art.
