Europe’s leaders now realise that with nations’ increasingly globalised commerce, the impacts of all cyber threats can cause profound damage to national economies. In recent years multiple bodies have been set-up for cyber crime counteraction; but as that challenge grows in magnitude, the necessity for Europe’s respective defensive agencies to co-ordinate becomes more critical. Those with leadership roles within those agencies are being accorded greater powers to act against the threats, and serve as sources of advice and guidance for organisations attacked.
