SPECIAL KEYNOTE The Future of Hacking Speaker: Jake Davis, Hacking Expert and Consultant 12:00-13:00 CET This talk will focus on hackers and hacker culture, looking at how they sit within the wider IT security landscape and how companies, governments, and individuals respond to perceived cyber threats as well as politically-

motivated hacking, and how these perceptions have evolved over the years, for better or worse. Jake will also talk about his experience in the Anonymous hacking collective and how, a decade later, hacktivism is returning and gaining popularity through unexpected modern apps (such as TikTok). Much of this keynote will be improvised based on hearing many other it-sa speakers, with an aim to bring an authentic hacker culture perspective to the topics that arise throughout the event. “My Special Keynote will be all about hackers and hacker culture,” Jake explained to Cyber Security Europe. “The intention is to bring that unique perspective to a wide range of topics, such as how governments have responded to hackers over time, what hackers think of various companies in terms of innovations, good/bad security practices.” Jake adds: “Most people approach me due to my involvement in

the world of hacking collectives Anonymous and LulzSec, which resulted in my arrest and prosecution as a teenager. I try to bring the nuances and psychologies behind security, hacking, and the wider hacker culture to a mainstream audience in creative, unique ways, with a view to raising awareness and knowledge around important cyber issues.” Read Jake’s it-sa 365 Q&A interview: see pages 28-29
