The season opens on Saturday 21st March with Lady Nade Sings Nina Simone, a powerful and heartfelt celebration of one of the most influ- ential voices of the twentieth century. Nina Simone’s music combines emotional depth, social truth, and musical originality, and Lady Nade’s acclaimed voice is a natural fit for this remarkable repertoire. Praised by BBC Radio 2’s Mark Radcliffe - “Love her voice - check her out!” - she brings warmth, strength, and interpretive nuance to every performance. Expect an evening of soul, intensity, and connection, honouring Sim- one’s art, spirit, and message. Tickets are already selling fast, so early booking is strongly advised to avoid disappointment.
A chance to dance! On April 24th, the programme takes a lively turn with a brand- new Swing Social Night featuring The Vintage Jazz Collective - an informal, up- beat evening with live music and a chance to dance. The Flavel floor will be cleared and set out in a relaxed, café-style dance space, encouraging a friendly, sociable feel. The band specialises in classic jazz and swing, with Lindy, Swing, and Charles- ton tunes played at just the right tempos for dancers. Local enthusiasts will offer guidance for anyone who wants to try a few moves, but there’s no pressure - you can dance, watch, chat, and enjoy the music your own way. Come with friends, share a table, and be part of a night built around fun and participation. As past audiences say, “This band really swings” and “They create just the right atmosphere.”
azz at the Flavel returns in 2026 with an expanded, high-energy programme celebrating the breadth and vitality of jazz - from soulful vocal tribute and classic swing to big-band sparkle and locally created music-and-dance theatre. This year’s season is designed to be accessible, varied, and
On August 1st, Dartmouth Wartime Sounds brings a home-grown produc- tion to the Flavel stage from the team behind last year’s Dartmouth in the Jazz Age, blending live music, dance, and Dartmouth’s wartime stories in an uplifting 1940s-themed show.
The season continues on Saturday 3rd October with A Century of Swing from the Down for the Count All-Stars a dazzling ten-piece big band delivering high energy, top-class musicianship and fresh takes on swing-era favourites.
With more still to be announced, Jazz at the Flavel 2026 promises a season of rhythm, warmth, and shared experiences - all right here at the Flavel.
