Bel-Ray Names Huafeng 'Bill' Shen Director of Technology
In June 2012 Bel-Ray Company Inc. specialty lubricant manufacturer in the United States announced that Huafeng (Bill) Shen, Ph.D. had assumed the role of Director of Technology.
A lubricant formulation expert and tribologist with more than eighteen years of experience, Shen’s experience will serve him well in his new position. Shen has published more than thirty technical papers and presentations in various scientific journals and research and development forums around the world. Shen is widely considered an expert in the Food Grade lubricants market and responsible for key product innovation in this demanding arena.

been a steady innovator in our research department, and took a key leadership role these last two years as we re- engineered our premier product line and developed key bio-degradable technology. An integral member of our leadership team, we anticipate Bill will continue to serve our industry in the development of cutting edge product technology while also driving our development teams in the area of next generation mining lubrication, as well as powersports product initiatives” said Jennifer Liquori, Bel-Ray’s Chief Operating Officer.
Shen has been with Bel-Ray since 1998, recently representing Bel-Ray on the NLGI Board of Directors. After receiving his masters degree in chemistry from Lanzhou University, Gansu, China,
Shen joined the grease research department of RIPP (Research Institute of Petroleum Processing), the research arm of Sinopec (China Petroleum & Chemical Corporation) in Beijing, China. Following his work at RIPP, Shen received his Ph.D. in chemistry in 1997 from the University of North Texas, Denton, Texas and did his postdoctoral research in University of Texas at Austin, Austin, Texas.
