Certificate of Lubricant Competence Training 2012
The thirteen enthusiastic delegates partaking in the 2012 Certificate of Lubricant Competence course have now reached the halfway post.
Delegates have come from far and wide, in fact as far as Malaysia, to attend this year’s course. A little known secret is that Lube’s very own Sub Editor, Suzy Jarman is also taking part.
Our resident trainer is Mr. Rod Pesch, CChem, MRSC. Rod has a long service history in the oil industry, amounting to 47 years and still counting! Starting in 1965 with ‘Regent Oil’ (forerunner of Texaco), Rod has worked in Technology, Marketing, Sales, Chemicals/Additives, OEM Liaison, Global Product Line Management and Global Marketing.
The course is primarily aimed at those who want to gain a thorough grounding on lubricants and lubrication. Plus, those who need to improve their skills and understanding by being brought up-to-speed on all the relevant information pertinent to the UK and European lubricants markets. It also provides a perspective on the global lubricants scene. It especially benefits newcomers to the industry.
The course consists of 10 one day modules. Each of the first 9 modules is broken down into sessions and is followed by a 20 minute test to help reinforce the contents provided during the day. Module 10, the final module consists of a 2 hour exam followed by an inspirational lecture from a well known lubricants industry expert.
Certification is only awarded to those attending all ten modules, however we always have a number of delegates who attend just one or two modules, using them to fill any knowledge gaps they may have.
The next module is Greases and is being held on 12th September. Good luck to delegates for the remainder of the course.
