LUBE Media STEM Ambassador Programme

Tina Reading, Editor and Laurie McHale, Media Coordinator, Lube Magazine

Tina Reading Laurie McHale

Lube Media is proud to launch LUBE STEM Ambassador Programme; a LUBE Media initiative in partnership with Baker Dearing Educational Trust UTCs (University Technical Colleges).

Our programme is aimed at encouraging the interest and participation of UK students into our industry in the fields of Science, Technology, Engineering, and Mathematics (STEM). Our main goal is to inspire and engage with the next generation of innovators, scientists, and leaders in STEM fields by introducing professionals from our lubricant industry into schools and universities to showcase who we are, what we do and what opportunities are available.

This programme provides a hands-on approach to learning, giving students the chance to engage with STEM concepts through interactive experiences.

At LUBE, we strive to encourage a supportive and inclusive environment where all students can thrive and develop their skills and interests. We believe that STEM education is vital in creating a better future for our world, and we are committed to making it accessible to everyone. This programme is designed to inspire and engage students who are already studying technical and STEM-focused subjects, helping them to better understand real-world career opportunities within the lubricant and wider engineering, manufacturing, science and technology industries.

44 LUBE MAGAZINE NO.191 FEBRUARY 2026

Through direct engagement with schools and colleges, our aim is to connect students with industry professionals who can bring their learning to life. Industry encounters that make a difference Students will benefit from a hands-on, practical approach to learning through: • Career insight sessions • Technical talks • Industry workshops • Employer engagement days • Curriculum enrichment support

Our Industry Ambassadors are experienced professionals from across the lubricants sector – including R&D, engineering, operations, logistics, sales and marketing. They share real career journeys, practical insight and most importantly, demonstrate how without lubricants, modern life simply would not function. As part of the programme, each ambassador will be paired with the three nearest technical colleges in their region, ensuring strong, practical links with local UTCs and maximising opportunities for meaningful engagement.
