Digitisation needed to propel the lubricant industry to new heights
Damien Duhamel, CEO and Co-Founder of Solidiance
The way players in the lubricant industry today reach and communicate with their customers, interact with their channel partners, and operate internally - are all elements that are currently undergoing a disruptive shift.
Digitisation is the key driver behind changes in the lubricant industry, a newly released report has concluded. From the inevitable automation of processes to integrating mobility platforms to the changes in the entire business models, digitisation is creating new opportunities at every corner. Incorporating elements of digital into existing business models will soon become a must for all lubricant manufacturers if they want to stay competitive and thrive.
“Digitisation in the Lubricant Industry” white paper, published by SolidianceDigital, explores how digitisation can help lubricant companies keep their heads above water and sustain their growth. The disruptive challenges
will require a brand new set of thinking and adopting a new approach of doing business. Implementing a digital strategy allows lubricant companies to be more flexible in responding to market fluctuations by providing a better overall management in real-time. This includes the supply chain, customer access and the subsequent relationships, as well as being smarter by understanding the overwhelming amounts of available data at each step of the way.
Embracing the digital
The way players in the lubricant industry today reach and communicate with their customers, interact with their channel partners, and operate internally - are all currently undergoing a disruptive shift.
The constant technological advancements have the power to alter the entire lubricants landscape and transform the very essence of how business is done. For some, it’s a process already well underway.
What we clearly see is that the market for lubricant companies in Asia is rapidly changing with an increasing number of electric vehicles, robots in manufacturing, co-sharing mobility platforms and soon hyper-capacity drones transforming markets at a very fast pace. Emerging markets and their hungry demand for transportation are still carrying the lubricant industry high; but for how long? China and India have very clear Electrical Vehicles plans that will dramatically impact the lubricant industry.
