Q8Oils and Automotive Supplies Direct team up to offer workshops full care & advice package

Q8Oils and Automotive Supplies Direct announced a joint initiative for workshops and garages. Called ‘Q-Care’, the new service offers practical advice, help and solutions on all aspects of lubricants, workshop design and installation - including Health & Safety.

Phil Davies, UK Technical Manager explains, “When we talk to garages and workshops, we often find they could be getting a lot more from their lubes - as well as their workspace. They’re also keen to comply with Health and Safety legislation but don’t always know the best way to do so. We’ve teamed up with Automotive Supplies Direct (ASD) to give them a complete support package.” Q8Oils and ASD will be working together to give workshops detailed advice on lubricants, workshop design and fit-out and the best equipment to use.

Central to the new service are Q-Care’s engineers and ASD’s technicians. The Q8 team will produce advice on lubricant use, storage and care, as well as tracking trends and providing detailed action plans. These plans form an important Health & Safety audit record for businesses.

ASD’s staff will advise on ergonomics, effective design and planning. But they will also offer a computer-aided-design (CAD) service so customers can see instantly how to utilise the space they have efficiently, profitably and safely. They can also advise on tool and plant calibration and set up as well as compliance with HSE and VOSA regulations.

Q-Care also offers managers the chance to have their staff trained in the correct use of lubricants, again providing a vital HSE record. Mike Phillips, Technical Sales Manager, explains, “Q-Care offers a whole suite of certificated training packages - training is one of the most effective ways to make sure firms are using lubricants correctly. It clears up any ambiguity or uncertainty and sets a standard staff can aim for - and reach.”

The initiative also offers a dedicated business-to-business website packed with information on lubricants management.
