modern twist to the more traditional-style Belfast sinks. The Franke white ceramic sinks with their slightly rounded corners are softer in style than the original Belfast design.

Another ultra-modern addition are the twin Quooker Nordic boiling water taps. Incorporating a boiling water tap in the design eliminates the need for a freestanding kettle on the work surface, keeping the clean lines and adding to the aesthetics of the finished kitchen space.

Solid ash

The blue solid ash Aldana shaker doors throughout the kitchen are from Kitchen Stori and are bespoke painted in Little Greene’s Royal Navy Blue and Air Force Blue. The toughened reeded glass doors above the sink recess lend a feeling of lightness. These cabinets are hung at a higher level to allow extra clearance and enhance the sense of space. The additional panel on the underside of these cabinets contains two integrated flush-mounted LEDs – great task lighting for this workspace. Further along this run is a wine rack, a full-height storage unit with door-mounted spice rack, a large freestanding fridge-freezer with additional top-box storage above and a further full-height storage unit

All the core kitchen cabinets are ultra-sustainable, made from a special eco board. Sheffield Sustainable Kitchens uses a board made from timber that is 100% recycled, so no tree is felled in its production. They have the board melamine-faced to give it an outer layer that makes it easier to clean and maintain. The cabinets that form the basis of their kitchens are all solid and built to last and boast an 18mm solid back panel. Rather than flat-packed, they are glued

and dowelled, and set straight in a press for reinforcement. They are said to be strong and stay square – perfect to create a kitchen that is built to last. In the dining space, the clients wanted a bespoke, freestanding TV cabinet to sit in the right-hand alcove, alongside the wood burner. The company designed a bespoke unit with corresponding storage below to match in with the colour and style of the kitchen. The cabinet is topped with FSC-certified solid oak as a contrast to the blue cabinetry below.
