Imex acquires Puraflow and Puracast products
FROM MAY 1, Puraflow and Puracast will only be available to be purchased from Imex Ceramic UK after its recent acquisition of the two brands.
The transition for retailers will be smooth as existing product codes and range names will not be changed and Imex partners only have to change the supplier from May.
Commenting on the move, James Wood, Imex Ceramic UK retail sales director, said: “We have had a fantastic response to our Imex product collection, following feedback from our partners and there is a huge demand for Imex to provide a complete offering. Our global strategy is to become a complete bathroom solution to our customers.
“[The fact that] our Imex products were previously distributed by Pura Bathrooms and share in most instances the same range names, coupled with the commercial understanding of their Puracast Baths and Brassware sales, made this decision of acquisition very easy. The brassware is already
seeing good growth within the UK and will see an increase in customer support as well as product development from our own Imex UK team.” Imex plans to be a complete bathroom solution and to continue to build up its product offering and develop its brassware and bath offering. Speaking about Imex becoming more like a one-stop-shop, Wood said: “The benefits to our customers take effect from 1st May 2022. They can order brassware, sanitaryware, all types of baths as well as our very own Imex furniture directly from us, with one point of contact and an easier way to trade.”
The acquisition is said to “only further strengthen the manufacturing capabilities and service of Imex across further bathroom sectors”. Over the next few months, Imex will be renewing the packaging and branding of all the new products of the Puraflow and Puracast brands and they will gradually all become Imex-branded products.
Commenting on the work outside the products, Wood said: “Imex are employing all staff involved
within the acquisition and growing both our internal and external teams almost immediately. This will fast- track the extra support and communication needed to our customers. We are very confident we will see a much quicker response to our customer needs. The aim will be for a new complete collection brochure later this year.”
Showerwall increases capacity with investment in acrylic printing WALL PANELLING specialist
Showerwall has invested in a new digital printer in a bid to increase manufacturing capacity for its range of acrylic panels by 400%. The new technology is said to speed up the printing process for faster turnarounds for Showerwall customers. The printer has two expansion tables allowing printing on larger panels up to three metres. The durability of the panels will also be enhanced due to the use of new water-based inks with high adhesion and scratch-resistance. Showerwall says the investment forms part of its commitment to sustainability. Steph Harris, product manager for Showerwall, comments: “The con - temporary glass-like finish of our acrylic panels creates a stunning backdrop for showers, baths, and
this new technology, as we have seen significant double-digit year-on-year growth since the product launched in 2018. Reducing lead times will enable further growth, enhance customer service, and help retailers and installers deliver dream bathrooms for their customers.”
The investment forms part of Showerwall’s sustainability commit- ments. The removal of UV inks, which required additional ventilation and safety equipment, means odours and airborne chemicals are no longer released into the atmosphere. Employees

Measure up with Compusoft’s Room Survey app
SOFTWARE SPECIALIST Com- pusoft has
launched its new LOW RES
Room Survey app, which it says enables installers or designers on site visits to produce an accurate 3D room plan in just five minutes. Using a tablet and a laser rangefinder, retailers measuring up a room can enter all of the required dimensions to produce a 3D room plan into the app, including windows, sills, nooks, niches and sloping ceilings, and send the information securely to its Winner Flex or Innoplus design packages. Compusoft
says 20 that because Room Survey is simple and intuitive, it
can be used by anyone, including inexperienced designers.
Hired installers or independent subcontractors can download Room Survey, create the drawing and send it direct to the retailer, or even multiple retailers. And Compusoft says there is “little room for error” as the app sends it straight to Winner Flex or Innoplus. Room Survey allows a company currently using Winner Flex or Innoplus to share their data with their fitters through their licence package. This means anyone can use it. They just need the email address of the retailers they are working with to connect to their version of Winner Flex or Innoplus.
