This edition is themed around outdoor learning. With spring now upon us and the weather beginning to improve, there are more opportunities to get children outside and engaged in outdoor learning. We know it’s a key focus for you, so thought you would appreciate some useful content relating to this topic.
Outdoor learning specialist, Juliet Robertson, provides practical tips on taking maths lessons outside on pages 6–7.
This edition, our ‘Diary of a head teacher’ is by Martin Johnson from Sacred Heart R.C. Primary School, who discusses how they approach outdoor learning at his school and the initiatives they have introduced.
There’s also a special section on preparing for Ofsted from page 16 onwards. It includes top tips from schools just like you on surviving a visit from Ofsted and insight from primary curriculum specialist Chris Quigley.
Don’t miss our fantastic competition on the back page, to win a YPO Orienteering Kit worth £177!
We hope you enjoy the magazine! Our next edition will be out in September.
