Boutique Care Homes gets planning permission for Kent home
Planning permission has been granted for Boutique Care Homes’ newest home, Catherine Grove, in Deal, Kent. Construction of Catherine Grove is set to begin this summer, with the home expected to open in late 2027. Featuring 83 bedrooms and seven retirement bungalows, Catherine Grove will offer a bistro, family lounge, and a lawn bowling green. As part of its commitment to preserving and enriching the natural environment, Boutique Care Homes will plant 60 additional trees, complementing the 250 already on-site.

Elevation completes new Yorkshire home transaction
Elevation Healthcare Properties has acquired a site and agreed forward funding for new care home in Otley, Yorkshire.
A real estate fund advised by Elevation Advisors LLP, Elevation Healthcare Properties (EHP) will work with developer and operator Torsion Care, to whom the completed home will be let on a long- term lease.
Housing 21 celebrates topping out for Oxfordshire Extra Care scheme
Housing 21 has held a topping out ceremony for its Fern Meadows Extra Care development in Faringdon, Oxfordshire. The leading national provider of retirement living and Extra Care housing was joined by representatives from Osbournes Quantity Surveyors, Quattro Design Architects ,and Deeley Construction. Fern Meadows will provide 60 modern apartments available to rent or buy through shared ownership. The scheme will provide the assurance of on-site care for residents if and when they need it. The development has been supported with over £5.13 m of Homes England grant funding.
Residents will benefit from a wide range of communal facilities, including a communal lounge, activity room, laundry, health suite, and guest room. Additional facilities will be available for use by the wider local community, including a café and hair salon. The scheme is forecast to open in the autumn. Bridget Faughnan-Bing, director of

The new home, set to open in late 2026, will provide 66 en suite bedrooms. The development will include air source heat pumps, solar panels, and an all-electric design in the laundry and kitchens to target an EPC A rating, BREEAM Construction rating of ‘Excellent’, and a BREEAM In-Use rating of ‘Excellent’. Torwood director Martin Hutson said: “We are delighted to have agreed the forward fund on the 66-bed care home in Otley with the team at Elevation. The scheme will further strengthen our existing care home portfolio and provide much needed high-quality care for local people. All the Torwood portfolio consists of EPC A and BREEAM excellent-rated homes, which provide high levels of sustainability and carbon reduction. This aligns strongly with our fund partners’ strategy and we will continue to innovate the development of our homes to deliver some of the most modern and carbon efficient care homes in the sector.
