Hospital communication – more time for patients
Christoph Karl, head of product management healthcare systems at Schrack Seconet, explains how technically innovative solutions can ease the burden on medical personnel by increasing efficiency and reducing stress.
In the healthcare sector, the human factor is irreplaceable. Digitalisation bears enormous potential to improve conditions for both patients and professionals. Healthcare professionals walk up to 15 km per shift and in patient transportation this number can even climb up to 27 km.1 This kind of physical strain can be significantly decreased by using mobile devices. More efficiency through intelligent communication systems means more time for patients and therefore directly improves the quality of care.
Healthcare needs future tech In 2018, the European Commission published a report on possible scenarios regarding the European Union’s demographic development. The report shows that the population of most bigger member states will continue to shrink until the year 2060. The curves point upwards, though, if immigration is included in the forecast.2
