Graduate Graduate members of the Institute are Engineers and Technical Staff on an approved training course or IPD scheme. Those in membership at this grade are entitled to use the designatory letters GIHEEM. To be elected as a Graduate you must meet the following requirements: While in full-time employment, be studying
for an engineering or related qualification, be a new graduate on an IPD scheme, or be on an Approved Apprenticeship.

Affiliate Membership In addition to Personal Membership, IHEEM offers a range of Affiliate Memberships to organisations and individuals involved in the Healthcare Estates sector.
Company Affiliate Companies of all sizes involved in the Healthcare Estates Sector may take advantage of IHEEM Company Affiliate Membership. Engage with our members and raise your profile to your key audience.
NHS Affiliate NHS Trusts and Health Boards may take advantage of IHEEM NHS Affiliate membership, free of charge, enabling membership to be extended to a wider range of technicians and trades staff working within estates and facilities teams.
University Affiliate Universities with Departments that have a focus on Engineering, the Built Environment, or Architecture, may take advantage of IHEEM University Affiliate Membership, and help inspire the next generation of healthcare engineers and estate managers.
Skilled Person Affiliate Skilled persons currently employed within a Healthcare Facilities organisation may apply to become Skilled Person Affiliate members, and take advantage of the full range of educational and networking events available.
Apprentice Affiliate Apprentices currently undertaking an Approved Apprenticeship Scheme within an NHS Trust or private sector employer within the Healthcare Estates Sector may apply to become Apprentice Affiliate members, and take advantage of the full range of educational and networking events available.
Student Affiliate Students with an interest in the Healthcare Estates Sector can apply to become IHEEM Student Affiliate Members, and take the opportunity to engage with healthcare engineering industry professionals, who can provide an insight into the range of careers available in the sector.
