Door operable ‘with finger-tip control’

Axis is the manufacturer of the Flo- Motion manual sliding door system developed for the healthcare sector. Launched at Healthcare Estates 2015, the ‘multi-award-winning’ Axis Flo-Motion employs a special low-resistance track system operable ‘with minimal effort using finger-tip control’. Custom- designed by the company for the new Liverpool Alder Hey Children’s Hospital, with its wide, open-aspect wards, Flo- Motion manual sliding doors have now been installed in 12 UK hospitals, and specified ‘for many more ongoing projects’.

Axis explained: “In 2016, the telescopic door was added to the range of sliding and bi-parting doors, and is proving ideal for both new-build and refurbishment projects where space is limited. The adaptability of Flo-Motion offers the designer many different formats to suit varying needs.”

‘Transformative’ contemporary façades

Axis also exclusively supplies and installs the full Stanley range of ICU/CCU doors and Manusa healthcare doors in the UK. Independently-owned, it has over 30 years’ experience as a manufacturer in the automatic door industry, working in the healthcare, education, government agency, and commercial sectors. Its custom-made products include manual and automatic swing and sliding doors, steel doors, and glazed curtain walls and shopfronts.

Try out quality furniture

Rosehill, a supplier of contract quality furniture into healthcare organisations for over three decades, is exhibiting at Healthcare Estates for the first time. With ‘a wealth of knowledge’, and priding itself on the quality of its customer service, Rosehill will offer

visitors to Manchester the chance to try out its ‘popular’ UK-made waiting room beam seating, along with a selection of visitor and patient chairs. Most of the company’s seating is made to order, with upholstery options including antimicrobial and antibacterial vinyls to aid infection control.

Alongside its extensive range of waiting room furniture, Rosehill also offers office furniture, staff room and ‘breakout’ tables and chairs, lockers, and bespoke reception desks.

The company is based in Cheadle, where it has a showroom within its head office. It supplies a wide range of customers throughout the UK, and can also ship products overseas.

d+b facades UK is a specialist design and build overcladding contractor. Its expertise lies ‘in transforming dated 1960s hospital buildings that exhibit all the usual defects – too cold and draughty in the winter, and too hot in the summer’ – using a new contemporary façade that addresses these issues ‘using a proven A1 non- combustible cladding system with fully integrated timber/aluminium composite windows that meets/exceeds Building Regulation requirements’. Business development director, Cliff Woodhouse, said: “We advocate that hospitals and other healthcare facilities take reference from our past clients within healthcare, and use these proven comparable projects when making important investment decisions. Past projects are the only true determinant of ensuring project success. If you have a building that you feel might benefit from a new façade, at a fraction of the cost of a new building, visit our stand this year.

“We also have experience of removing combustible cladding on occupied buildings, and re-cladding with non- combustible cladding. We can offer advice, proposals, and budget costings, without commitment, and, if necessary, arrange for you to visit past projects to see the transformation possible.”
