The Teal Task Force service – which supports medical environments with ‘high quality’ hot water hand washing sinks, delivering units to site to meet demand as a result of unplanned or planned water supply interruptions – says that while the winter season has always generated high demand for the hire service, it has seen ‘a significant increase’ over the last three months. Teal Patents explained: “There is particular demand growth from locations where the mains water supply has had to be suspended for maintenance or refurbishment. In the past managing this has been challenging, but with the Teal service available at short notice, wards can continue functioning normally with a hygienic, safe, hot water alternative.” Teal recently supplied a maternity ward at the United Lincolnshire Hospitals NHS Trust, Noel Doyle, Teal Task Force manager, said: “We were contacted by the hospital to cover a short early morning period when plumbing work was planned. The Infection Control team was adamant that it needed a sink for every bed in the ward.”

“We know that effective magnetic
filtration brings benefits for every system type – from small domestic, to large commercial. While the maintenance of larger systems has typically remained very traditional, slowly those responsible for these systems are recognising the benefits that magnetic filtration provides, especially when adopted as part of a comprehensive water treatment and maintenance programme. Given the size of these systems, they could reap the biggest benefits from the use of magnetic filtration.” Adey’s ‘comprehensive range’ of magnetic filters includes MagnaClean Commercial filters available in 2, 3, 4, 6, and 8 inch sizes, the MagnaClean DualXP, and new MagnaClean DRX. Customers can also benefit from a comprehensive range of water treatment chemicals, and chemical and microbiological testing.
