Members’ workplace photos needed for IET Faraday Challenge 2021/2022
IHEEM is delighted to be working in collaboration with the Institution of Engineering and Technology (IET) as its 2021-2022 Faraday Challenge theme partner.
The Faraday Challenge days introduce students to engineering, inspire them to consider engineering as a career, and help to develop their practical and employability skills – including team- working, problem-solving, and creative thinking. As the theme partner, IHEEM is working with the IET to develop a suitable challenge that reflects the Institute’s

As part of the challenge, IHEEM will be filming a briefing video, featuring IHEEM members, to set the scene and present the challenge. As part of this, the Institute is calling on members to help by submitting a photograph of themselves in a work setting, to highlight the many different job roles within the healthcare estates workforce.

IHEEM added: “Please note that all images will need a completed photography consent form from the person in the picture, and potentially the Trust if taken on site. Images submitted without a consent form will not be able to be used. Consent forms are available to download from the above web page. Thank you for your continued support, and keep an eye out for further developments.”
New Digital Events Calendar
Over the past 18 months the Institute has seen a 'dramatic reinvention’ when it comes to its digital transformation, and, to continue this theme, there has been a recent update of the events calendar on the new IHEEM website.
The new events calendar format aims to display the type, theme, and accessibility of each event (whether free to attend or paid), in a new, user- friendly, easy-to-read format. The calendar also enables users to search by date, category, or location, or simply by typing in a key word. This easy-to-use format enables visitors to the website to look at what IHEEM has planned for the coming months, viewed by week, month, and year, therefore allowing time to plan accordingly.
Melissa Glass, Marketing and Events Manager at the Institute, said: “In the past, some, but not all, have been aware of our annual events and roughly when they take place, but with online events being as popular as ever, we hope that the new digital events calendar will help to keep our members more informed around what’s happening, and hope that it becomes quite a frequently visited page on our website.”
