Webinar on ‘Developing the Healthcare EFM Workforce’

Following publication of the Joint Workforce Strategy in March 2021, IHEEM and HEFMA will be hosting a joint webinar titled ‘Developing the Healthcare EFM Workforce – A Partnership Approach’ on Wednesday 12 May 2021. The three planned sessions will focus on the new joint strategy, discuss the current workforce-related challenges facing the healthcare sector – including staff turnover, mental health and wellbeing, and training and development, and shine a light on the positive steps that both organisations are taking to improve what is already available, including via enhanced resources and useful information. More information will also be provided on the national apprenticeship programme, and the development of joint resources such as the Future Leaders Career Map. Attendees will gain a better understanding of how to improve visibility, development, retention, and diversity within the EFM workforce, and the importance of encouraging and supporting future leaders in the sector. Confirmed speakers include Prerana Issar, Chief People Officer for NHS England and NHS Improvement, Lord Young of Norwood, Apprentice Ambassador at the House of Lords, and Honorary Patron of IHEEM, Bethan Stanyon from the Prince’s Trust, and Richard Williams OBE, Emeritus Professor of Mental Health Strategy at the University of South Wales.
