Record orderbook for Wittmann Group in 2021

In the fiscal year 2021, Wittmann Group made €376m in sales. It was the third highest figure in its corporate history, with order intake figures over the same period reaching an all-time high.

Eager to capitalise on this period of financial growth, the group has several expansion activities cur- rently underway. These include a fully automatic pallet shelf warehouse with 1,700 storage locations covering 3,000 m² floor space, plus an adjoining electrical workshop, in Kottingbrunn, Austria, which are expected to be opera- tional this month. Wittmann is also remodelling and extending its technical labs in Meinerzhagen and Nuremberg, Germany. Additionally, the last

extension stage at Plant 1 of Wittmann USA in Torrington, Connecticut, has been commissioned. This will be a 1,000 m² extension of the

Wittmann Battenfeld Polska, has purchased a 16,400 m² piece of land in Krze Duże, close to its current location. Planning for the construc-

In April, an extension was completed at the R&D facility of Wittmann Technol- ogy, located at Percostrasse in Vienna. The company said that most of the new offices for 40 software and hard- ware developers are now occupied. www.wittmann-group.com

Injection moulding machinery maker Engel is extending its training relationship with the Germany-based KIMW plastics institute for mid-market companies, one of its long-standing partners, in order to develop a broader range of e-learning options as well as face-to-face workshops and seminars. Engel said it set up its

own e-learning platform long before the pandemic made it necessary, not to replace its established classroom formats, but to supplement them and make them more acces- sible. In addition to the e-learning programme, classroom events are held either in one of 22 certified Engel training centres or on customer premises. Hybrid seminars are also offered when not all participants are able to travel to a training venue. www.engelglobal.com
