The hydraulically powered PowerPush maximises output for shredding sheet and film. The cutting chamber features a textured floor to reduce the risk of material adhering or finding its way under the pusher and is offset by five degrees to enable liquids to drain away. The Quad Cut cutting system for general plastic waste features a solid knife that allows the full use of all four cutting edges. The cutting system is extremely durable and has a robust clamping system attaching the knife to the rotor. The knives are supported by a sacrificial washer in order to protect the rotor should non-plastic material accidently enter the cutting chamber. Weima has introduced the WKS, which is claimed to be ideal for processing everything from bulky objects to tear-resistant fibres and film. A swing ram on rolls is positioned inside the cutting chamber, providing for consistent infeed of materials. An inspection flap inside the chamber allows for easy access for preventative mainte- nance and to clear any foreign objects that may have been introduced during the shredding process. These shredders come equipped with hydraulic drives or power belt drives depending on the application. The rotor type depends on the application: a V-rotor for lumps and large objects or an F-rotor for fibres and film. The screen size can be chosen to fine-tune the final shredded product to the ideal size, for reintroduction into a produc-
tion line or for recycling. The company has also developed
the WLK 30 Super Jumbo, a large machine designed to meet the needs of operations with large pieces of scrap or large throughput quantities. The Super Jumbo line of machinery is claimed to be both versatile and reliable, with robust construction. The range is also designed for applications requiring custom settings, with over 80 optional features available on the ma- chines. Zerma has developed the ZIS series of shred- ders targeting the
recycling of large volume parts, such as IBCs, barrels and pallets, that otherwise would require a bigger machine. The shredders feature an internal hydraulic pusher which increases the internal volume without increasing the footprint. Like all Zerma shredders, the ZIS can be equipped with a wear package for processing of highly abrasive or filled materials. The ZIS series shredders are single shaft
shredders with a large internal volume. The re-designed hydraulic pusher system creates about 35% more space in the cutting chamber while increasing the power and speed of the ram itself. The machines are equipped with a 457mm diameter Zerma E rotor with widths ranging from 1,200 to 2,000mm. As on the ZSS machines, the rotor is driven via an oversized gearbox. The completely closed welded steel housing increases the stability and avoids material spillage. The ZIS has all of the advantages of the Zerma knife and knife holder design, as well as standard features such as outboard bearings, hydraulic screen cradle, easy maintainability and advanced controls.
