closures are as busy as usual. Bericap has devel- oped ClipAside, a tethered cap solution developed for compliance with EU Directive 2019/904. The company says that it designed ClipAside to allow customers to prepare for a fast and simple change- over to tethered caps while continuing to manufac- ture closures with the current tamper-evident band geometry (or to manufacture both types concur- rently). An early changeover to ClipAside also enhances the products’ brand appeal. Consumer surveys on tethered caps have revealed that the majority of consumers appreciated the ClipAside caps for their intuitive handling and hygiene advantages, rating them more positively than conventional caps. Berry Global Healthcare has introduced a number of solutions to meet the increased demand for child-resistant and tamper-evident packaging for the pharmaceutical and herbal market for syrup and liquid medicines. The new Berry Healthcare bundle features seven ranges of 28 mm neck PET bottles in sizes from 20-1,000 ml and a variety of designs, with eight accompanying closures that incorporate tamper-evident and child-resistant features. Customers can select the bottle and compatible closure with liners and dosing cups to meet their particular application and capacity requirements. To help companies meet their sustainability objectives, some bottles can be produced in 100% food-grade recycled PET. Sulapac has launched Sulapac Luxe, a new

sustainable material for luxury fragrance caps as part of an expanded cosmetics portfolio. Beauty brands are seeking sustainable alternatives for conventional plastic packaging – but high-end brands have high-end demands. Sulapac’s portfo- lio, including a novel bio-based material ideal for fragrance bottle caps, allows cosmetic brands to meet their sustainability targets with a comprehen- sive range of applications, without compromising quality or aesthetics. The company says that Sulapac Luxe is a new bio-based material ideal for substituting hard plastics, including ABS, as part of its expanded portfolio for cosmetics and beauty packaging. The new material comes in response to demands from the beauty industry’s leading brands for more environmentally conscious packaging solutions that still offer high-end luxury feel, function and aesthetics. High density, resistant to temperature fluctuations, ceramic feel and sound, and a glossy, smooth surface are some of the material’s charac- teristics, which are important for luxury brands. Sulapac Luxe is not only recyclable, but it can also be made with recycled content, another feature important for many premium brands. United Caps has launched a highly effective and sustainable tethered closure for carton packaging, 23 H-PAK. This closure includes a tamper-evident band that keeps all parts intact for easier recycling. The company says that the 23 H-PAK tethered closure is designed to make an instant connection with established filling lines, ensuring integration with existing processes and fast production-line implementation. It also has a first-time-use feature to create an optimal access point, enhancing the user experience. The cutting edge is specially designed to cut through the pre-laminated hole with minimal effort, providing a clean and smooth opening. The closure consists of three pieces – the spout,


closure and cutter, while other solutions in the market typically consist of four pieces.
