Multilift, the new multi-axis robot can be pro- grammed quickly and easily directly via the Selogica or Gestica machine controller. The new Yaskawa was presented for the first time at K2022. For the trade fair application, it removed Luer-Lock connectors from the mould with a 4-fold gripper, fed them individually to an inline camera inspec- tion and deposited them in containers separated by mould cavities. Arburg has also extended its range of Multilift
linear robots with two new models primarily for use on its injection presses, where it says it supplies around one in three of its injection moulding machines with a robotic system. The company introduced its new Multilift V 10 model for use with its Allrounder injection moulding machines in sizes 270 to 570.
Servo electric drives govern movement and positioning for each of the main axes for high repeat- ability, while the robot has a maximum payload of 10 kg. The robot is fully integrated into the moulding machine and controlled through Arburg’s control system. Each axis can be programmed to move in increments of 0.1 mm, 1 mm or 10 mm. Arburg’s Multilift Select 8 vertical robotic system is designed for injection machines with sizes up to 570 and comes with active vibration compensation which automatically reduces the vibrations of the axes to reduce cycle times and increase position- ing accuracy. The unit has a maximum payload capacity of 8 kg and features servo motor drives for each of the main axes of movement. Wittmann introduced its new compact WX128

linear robot at last year’s K show as the successor to its W818 and W918 robot models. Designed for use on small injection presses with clamp forces ranging from 80 to 200 tonnes, the unit can handle a nominal payload capacity of 6 kg. Z-axis. The rear structure has been shortened by 30%, and a compact protective housing design is made possible by positioning the drive unit and connection cables on the inside. lineup of linear robots with the new Viper 4 model it introduced at K 2022. The model, made primarily for picking and placing of small-moulded parts, is designed for manipulating weights of 3 kg down- stream of the swivel axis. It has a picking time of less than 1 s and achieves a dry cycle time of 5.5 s. The robot model is for use on injection machines with a clamping force up to 220 t, says Engel. Features include a 48V drive technology and a
230V single-phase power supply which makes the Viper 4 an extremely low energy consumption robot. Engel says that for the first time, all vacuum circuits in the unit feature an energy-saving function as standard. The vacuum is controlled by a flow program which can reduce the energy for the vacuum circuits by up to 80% to accurately reflect requirements. The vacuum technology is designed to reduce air filter contamination and to bring about quieter robot operation. The robot operates with Engel’s CC300 control, with the possibility to incorporate Engel’s iQ motion control smart assistance system.
