Domo Chemicals will focus its presence in Shenzhen on its Technyl range of performance polyamides, which includes the Technyl 4Earth, Technyl Star and Technyl Protect product families and was first introduced to the Chinese market last year. The company will introduce two new additions
to the Technyl 4Earth portfolio, which is focused around more sustainable PA6 and PA66 compound formulations. Technyl 4Earth A1E 218 V30 BK 34NG LP is a sustainable variant of its current refrigerant-resistant grade; Technyl 4Earth HFFR flame retardant PA grades are available in grey and white and incorporate recycled raw materials. Domo is currently building a new plant to compound Technyl PA materials at Haiyan in China. It will supplement its existing compounding operation at Jiaxing and will start production in early 2024. �

Engel is demonstrating a servohydraulic Duo 2460/500 injection moulding machine producing mirrors for head-up displays in the high-precision Coinmelt process. Platen parallelism is controlled by four individual pressure pads as the clamping force builds up. This ensures the precise parallel- ism of the mould halves throughout the injection moulding process when using coining. In this way, the coining process can produce asymmetrical components with maximum precision moulding. With low holding pressure, the melt is evenly distributed over the projected component surface. The group will present two applications on all-electric E-mac machines. An E-mac 465/180 with a 128-cavity mould will be used to produce

LSR connector seals used in automotive electron- ics. The series mould, manufactured by Austrian firm Nexus Elastomer Systems, is used by the automotive supplier Waexim based in Xiamen, China. The special design of E-mac machines, which feature enlarged tie-bar spacing, makes it possible to install this large mould on the relatively small 1,800 kN machine. The second E-mac in Shenzhen will showcase a medical application. An E-mac 1340/280 injection moulding machine will be used to produce blood collection tubes of PET from a 64-cavity mould supplied by NCM of Suzhou, China. �

Kraiburg TPE will present a number of new TPE introductions at Chinaplas, including the latest additions to its Thermolast R recycled product family that are targeted at Asia Pacific consumer and industrial markets. The company says the Thermolast R RC/FC/PCR/AP series is aimed at the consumer market and contains 9-38% post-con- sumer recycled content, depending on the hardness. The company will also introduce its FG/SF/AP
series for Asia-Pacific automotive interior applica- tions. Grades offer high adhesion to PP together with good flow, low density and controlled level of emissions and odour. Thermolast H grades are formulated for the region’s medical and healthcare markets and comply with Cytotoxicity ISO 10993-5, GB/T 16886.5. �

Wanhua will show its newly commercialised Wanamid PA12, a high performance polyamide that offers low density (1.01 g/cm3) and good resistance to low-temperatures, high-impact, and aggressive chemicals. The material also offers self-lubricating properties — with a dynamic friction coefficient of less than 0.07 and wear of less than 10mg under a 1kg load for 1,000 rotations — and good moisture barrier performance. �
