INEOS Styrolution was formed in 2011 as a 50:50 styrenics joint venture between INEOS and BASF. INEOS acquired BASF’s share to become sole owner in 2014. The company continues to invest in its portfolio and production capacity. This year it acquired the K-Resin styrene butadiene copolymer business from joint owners Chevron Chemical and Daelim Industrial and announced capacity expansions in the US, Mexico and India. The Indian project includes two new compounding lines that will add an extra 34,000 tonnes of compounding capacity by 2019 and take the site’s total to 100,000tpa.


Product line:


INEOS Styrolution is a global supplier of styrene monomer, polystyrene, and ABS standard and styrenic specialities. End use markets include the automotive industry, electronics, household, construction, healthcare, packaging and sports and leisure.


Product strengths:


Standard products are available on very short leadtimes; specialty grades combine custom performance with high lot-to-lot consistency.
